Ever wondered what a 'Zygma beam' is? No? We hadn't either, until we learnt on the Who universe that when a Zygma beam interacts with Earth's electromagnetic field it reacts with it to produce massive discharges of chronon radiation. Its spatial area of influence is directly proportional to the length of the beam. Now that's worth knowing!

Interested in ironing? Maybe not at first thought the most adventurous of activities, but take a look at the Extreme Ironing Bureau. As they describe it themselves, "the latest danger sport that combines the thrills of an extreme outdoor activity with the satisfaction of a well pressed shirt". Its hard not to start thinking about how you could set your own record, ............ isn't it???

This site does it all for you, wherever you are, whenever you want it and whether you need sunrise/set, moon rise/set, civil twilight, or any of a whole host of other astronomical data. Bravo the USN! (Strangely, given the facts that this is a US Navy site, that the sun and moon have notable effects on tides, and that generally one might have some reasonable expectation that tides would be something a navy would have an interest in, this site doesn't actually do tides! For those you need to go here).

Then you need to find out more about them - no they're not actually furry, they're an atmospheric phenomenon, just one of many amazing effects which light, optics, ice and water can create in the sky, some only visible once you get off the surface (follow me!).

Any idea what a Rookie Pilot does? No? Then follow this link to find out - this is what Zygma's CEO gets up to in his spare time. It consists of mainly articles published under the epithet 'Rookie Pilot', before the magazine carrying them ceased publication.
